Prof. Dr. Martin Wallraff Dean from winter semester 25/26

From October 1, 2025, church historian Prof. Wallraff will serve as dean of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. Quod felix faustumque sit.
On October 1, Prof. Dr. Martin Wallraff took over the office of dean from Prof. Dr. Jörg Lauster. Expressing his heartfelt thanks to his predecessor, he emphasized in his inaugural letter:
"Theology always has to do with community, expressed in ‘our’ ancient languages as koinonia or communio. And communio is part of communication. That is very important to me. We are a community of teachers and learners, and if we want to represent and advance the cause of theology together, we need good communication."
The Munich Protestant Theology Department is a small faculty at a large university. It offers both short distances and broad horizons. We wish all the best for the new dean's term.
