Jonathan Stutz Appointed Professor of Church History at the University of Zurich

We congratulate him on his appointment as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at UZH !
On September 23, 2026, the University Council of the University of Zurich appointed PD Dr. Jonathan Stutz as an assistant professor on the tenure track in Ancient Christianity and Digital Humanities (DSI) at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies. Starting February 1, 2027, Jonathan Stutz will conduct research and teach in the assistant professorship at the UZH Theological Seminary, which is funded by the Digital Society Initiative.
Jonathan Stutz served as an assistant at the Chair of Church History 1 in our faculty from 2017 to 2023, completed his habilitation here in 2023, and—after serving as a visiting professor at Humboldt University in Berlin—is currently working as a research associate in our faculty. We extend our warmest congratulations and wish him all the best in his new role!
