What does family mean? What can it be, and what can't it be? This film series, followed by a discussion, explores family discourse in current cinema. A selection of auteur films from different countries and genres addresses the complex network that is family. They offer diverse perspectives on the topic of family and leave room for interpretation, stimulating discussion.
The films will be shown at the Leopold Cinema on Tuesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. This will be followed by a film discussion at LMU from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Experts from all projects within the ForFamily network and from the field of film and religion research will shed light on the respective films from their perspective in short presentations that will introduce the discussion with the audience.
Those responsible are conducting research within the framework of the consortium in the project Family in film. Media as a place for negotiating family narratives, values, and transformations.
